See Lisbon from the heights
On the way through the Church Tower, visitors will find the Multimedia Room, with an immersive experience about the mystery of the Relic of Santa Cruz and the Reconquest of Lisbon. The original relic is on permanent display in the Church of Santa Cruz do Castelo.
On the upper floor of the Church of Santa Cruz do Castelo, a long corridor serves as a stage for temporary art exhibitions, usually featuring sacred art.
Next door, in the church's Upper Choir, visitors will come across the photographic exhibition "Há vida no Bairro do Castelo" (There's life in the Castelo neighbourhood), a tribute to the local residents, which shows 18 unpublished images of daily life in the last century, from 1920 to 1980.
With a little imagination, you can enter these lives that were photographed in black and
white. How can you take part in this century-old journey?
1º - Approach the large canvas next to the wall
2º - Choose your favourite angle
3º - Take the picture
4º - Edit the black and white image
5º - Choose the cropping tool and adjust your entire image so that it fits inside the panel,
and you're done! You've entered the old Castelo neighbourhood without leaving the 21st
century!
6º - Share your photos and tag Torre da Igreja on Instagram (@torre.da.igreja) so we can
see the final result.
After your visit, roam at will in the Castelo neighbourhood and look for these places that are still alive today.
