The Castle Church is hosting the Bell Challenge, a unique competition in Lisbon, which challenges participants to ring one of our 18th-century bells, dating from the time of the French Revolution. Using a force sensor, each strike is measured in decibels; the reading is recorded instantly and shared on a leaderboard, creating a fun competition to see who can ring the bell the loudest. The experience allows you to calculate the sound’s range in kilometres, so you can find out just how far across Lisbon the sound of your strike travelled.
